Nariba Kennels

Elena is the owner of Nariba Kennels.

Nariba Kennels have all their dogs living indoors with full access to the yard when they desire.

Their breeding goal is to provide an old style working dog with a splash of modern-day touch. How do they do that? They take a working Dane (very similar to today’s American show lines) and introduce a hint of “European” blood. This allows the creation of a balanced dog that can perform a variety of tasks but still be larger and heavy but not overly done.

The original Great Dane was a fierce and loyal protector, bred to hunt large game and aid in guarding the home. Even though they were vicious and courageous they were also gentle to owners and children with an even disposition and a desire to please. Great Danes used to weigh around 120lbs at the largest. Today’s Great Dane male averages 150lbs.
