Jaya Great Danes are nestled in the cornfields of west central Illinois. They have had many different breeds over the years and you will meet many of them here on this website. Their goals are very similar to their mentors. And that is to raise healthy (both physically and mentally) Great Danes that also exemplify all the qualities the breed standard calls for. This includes temperament as well as structural aspects of the breed. Striving for sound bodies and minds led them to question the traditional way of raising their dogs.
Puppies purchased from Jaya have been bred with the thought of improving the breed’s health, temperament, and structure. The parents of puppies are checked for health conditions that could be passed on to the puppies affecting their future health such as hip dysplasia, cataracts, Von Willebrand’s Disease, and thyroid disease. Puppies will not leave the breeder’s house until at least 8 weeks of age. While they prefer not to vaccinate, future puppy homes are encouraged to educate themselves on vaccines and discuss their vaccine plans with them.
