High Desert Danes have owned Great Danes for 42 years. No other breed has captured their heart as they have. High Desert Danes are a hobby breeder of performance dogs. They compete in Rally and obedience and also prove their dogs for fitness by hunting jackrabbits.
Great Danes are a pleasure to train, and High Desert Danes have found they are quick to learn and eager to please. As wonderful as these dogs are, they are not for everyone. If you have very small children, High Desert Danes recommend you wait. You also need to be in a position to supervise your children at all times when around the puppy, so that they don’t tease them. Children also run and trip and could fall on the puppy causing great injury.
Puppies are available occasionally from health tested parents. They are raised in the home in Southwestern Utah with dogs (large and small) and cats. High Desert Danes have now implemented the Puppy Culture protocol as well. They have 3 fenced acres to run and play on in order to develop properly. They are raised in the home, not an outdoor kennel. They receive a great deal of socialization this way.
