Grateful Danes began in 2002 when they started working at a boarding facility in high school owned by Pat Ciampa of Maitau Great Danes. While working for Pat, they fell in love with the temperaments and beauty of her Danes, and it soon became their dream to own one of these magnificent animals. After the pairing of two of their favorite dogs, they had to have one. Pat (along with Helen and Tiffany Cross) allowed them to get their heart dog, Drake (Ch Maitau’s Grateful Dane, CGC). They continued to work for Pat for 5 years and gained invaluable mentoring from her.
Grateful Danes are a member of the Great Dane Club of Greater Denver, having served as President, Vice President, Co-Treasurer and board member. They are also a member of the Great Dane Club of America, and the veterinary emergency and critical care society. They are a Certified Veterinary Technician and offer handling.
