Darby Plains Danes

Darby Plains Danes goal is to follow the Great Danes Breeders Color Code by breeding forward, never backwards.  The Great Dane Club of America recognizes 6 colors of which they are in 3 groups.   The Fawn and Brindle, the Harlequin and Mantle, the Blue and Black.   They have chosen the Harlequin and Mantle Color group for breeding.  Which will also produce the Merle and the Blacks (Harlequin bred).  Darby Plains Danes screen all of their breeding stock for the Piebald Gene.  Many of their dogs have had their hips checked using the PennHIP method.

Darby Plains Danes are located 25 miles south of Columbus, Ohio about a 1/4 mile from the Big Darby Creek State and National Scenic River.   Nearby residents call it the “Darby Creek” or just “The Creek”.   Summers and falls their Danes look forward to afternoon swims in the creek.
