Colorwork Great Danes began in 1992 with the desire to breed Harlequin, Mantle, and Merle Great Danes for Service, Show, Performance, and Companion homes. Adhering to the Great Dane Club of America’s Bred Standard and focusing on breeding structurally sound dogs with sound minds has given them proven dogs and their ability to match a puppy’s aptitude with individual family needs. Their Danes complete health tests surpassing basic recommended screening by CHIC, the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), AKC, and the Great Dane Club of America (GDCA). Tests include PennHIP or OFA Hips, OFA Elbows, Thyroid, CERF Eyes and Cardiac Screening via Electrocardiogram.
Colorwork Great Danes’ breeding program focuses on producing Danes with smooth, functional, and well-sound structure. Utilizing a select breeding program, their puppies offer above average health, longevity (living well into the 10 – 14th years) and have the ability to succeed not only as performance/show dogs, but as family members first and foremost.
